Hispanic Heritage Month begins today, September 15, the anniversary of independence for five Latin American countries—Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.  Mexico declared its independence on September 16, and Chile on September 18.

Here in Nashville, we are honoring four Hispanics who generously give back to our community:  www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article

Conexion Americas put on such a fantastic event last Friday evening at Cheekwood. Bravo! Speaking of the launch of Hispanic Heritage Month, did you know that a Hispanic was: - the first admiral in the U.S. Navy - the first woman to fly a motorized aircraft - the researcher who discovered the cause of yellow fever - the #1 woman golfer in the world! Celebrate Hispanic Heritage month by remembering the known and lesser known Hispanics who have worked to help make our country so wonderful. Hispanics are part of our history, present and future!
